Half the world away from home, small things in life get magnified out of proportion. A philosophy text gets us depressed the whole weekend. Going to the supermarket feels like an excursion. Cooking dinner feels like a massive experiment. Not drinking feels like exclusion from a major clique. Group dinners are just wonderful chill-out sessions. Skype sessions with parents feel good. Friends in SG and US are have been the most understanding and supportive, just by being there, relating their own experiences and hearing me complain. Seniors have been so nice as to invite us to a very fun housewarming and offer to take us out to Birmingham.
I think I should count my blessings. As I try to become independent, I am always never truly alone.
