Act as you preach.

Assumption: Western societies, with full-fledged democracies, talk about rights, protests and demonstrations, would be more accepting of people of various colours and stripes.
Another assumption: people at University are relatively well-read and world-conscious.

Observation: They think they know and act like they do, but they don't.
Stop asking me "how's china?" and saying "we have the right to spit gum wherever we like".
Stop asking me "how's the dictator?" And this brings me to the next point.
News: "In a radical move to curb terrorism, UK lecturers and university staff have been asked to spy on 'Asian-looking' and Muslim students they suspect of supporting terrorist acts and involvement in extremism, reported the Guardian."
You laugh at our system of government, only to implement worse. This is not meant to be political, but for god's sake, you cannot tell someone's religion by looks and "asian-looking" means anything from Chinese, to Indian to Central Asian. Please do not insult your academic staff's intelligence. (and if they do follow, it will be tremendously disappointing.)
And international students did not pay more than three times what the locals pay in school fees to be spied on. Ascribe the same basic human respect to everyone. Look beyond the borders, to see that not all humans are white.

An unrelated note: my tagboard died, so I took it off. Anything, please email. :D
