What is your destination in life? Life is a journey, the destination is death. That is true for everyone, whether or not you believe in afterlife. It is important that we all live life to the fullest, but hankering after the next big thing before we even finish with the first is a recipe for serial indigestion. Goals after goals, we want to go further and further. But if every step is merely a stepping stone, even in death there will be no fulfilment. To map everything out rationally may land us with the most irrational and undesirable of outcomes, i.e. nothing.
It is not necessary to earn your first million by the age of 30, or get a job with a title longer than this post. But it is important to be happy, with friends who will be honest, even brutally so, when you go wrong because they know you take their comments in good faith, who will do all the ditzy and ridiculous things with you and talk about the weirdest and most retarded things on earth. It does not matter where they came from, which school they are going to and where they may be working next time. These are just irrelevant data of little value. Sometimes it's not the journey, but the company. There is no point reaching whatever pinnacle when there is no one with whom you really want to share it. Paths will inevitably diverge and life gets lonely, but it is the lack of vested interests that makes friendships all the more real. It is the differences in backgrounds, tastes and experiences, that make the times together refreshing.
Be honest with me, if that is the side you want to know of me.
